EVE works towards fostering rural development and creating opportunities for sustainable growth for underprivileged and underrepresented communities by providing essential goods, services, and valuable resources; whether through the subsidization of solar lamps, collection and distribution of study materials, or conducting health camps across rural India.
Our History
Since its inception in 2009, EVE has been dedicated to empowering the lives of villagers across rural India by providing solar lamps. At a time when over 25% of India lacked electricity and power connections, these communities relied solely on daylight, facing pitch darkness at dusk with only moonlight to guide them.
Our journey began in a small village in Rajasthan, where we distributed our first solar lamps. Six months later, we returned to witness a remarkable transformation. Girls who had previously dropped out of school were now able to continue their education. Men could extend their working hours, and women found it easier to complete their tasks, enjoying more leisure time. The harmful kerosene fumes were a thing of the past. Overall, the villagers led happier, healthier, and more empowered lives.
To date, EVE has distributed over 250,000 solar lamps across 14 states in India, impacting more than 350,000 lives. Our efforts have reached even the most remote parts of India, including Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, and Assam. These lamps have enabled students to pass their examinations, pursue careers, and uplift their standard of living.
As India progresses towards complete electrification, EVE remains steadfast in its mission to empower rural communities across the country, and our efforts do not stop here. EVE is continuously exploring new ways to extend its support. From initiating clean water projects to promoting sustainable agriculture practices, distribution of medical equipment to study and sporting materials for schools, our goal is to address every aspect of rural life that can be improved. Each of our projects is designed with the community's unique needs in mind, ensuring that our interventions are both relevant and impactful.
Nishka founded EVE back in 2010, at the young age of 15, and has since passionately driven efforts to uplift rural communities, ensuring they have access to essential resources and opportunities for growth. Under her guidance, EVE has implemented numerous impactful projects, such as distributing over 5 lac solar lamps, study materials, and conducting health camps.
Nishka’s educational and professional journey has significantly shaped EVE's direction and impact over the years. She completed her IGCSE and IB diploma at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in 2013 and graduated from Tufts University in 2017, where she honed her leadership skills, coupled with strong execution capabilities. She also earned a Diploma in Plant-Based Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu in London, furthering her commitment to sustainability.
Currently working as the Vice President of Marketing at Crest Ventures, a publicly listed NBFC, she is pioneering the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for the organization with her strategic vision and dedication, blending business success with meaningful contributions to society.
