Our Impact

Whether through the subsidization of solar lamps for countless villages, providing an eco-friendly and sustainable solution to the problem of darkness after sunset, collection and distribution of study materials including books, notebooks, stationery, and other educational resources to schools and libraries in remote villages, or conducting health camps across various villages, offering free medical check-ups, eye exams, and distribution of necessary medical supplies and prosthetics - EVE enhances the safety and security within communities to build a better future for the current and future generations.

Solar Power Lamps

One major initiative undertaken by EVE in 2017 was the distribution of solar lamps from the farthest northern state Arunachal Pradesh, to Jammu & Kashmir, and Leh & Ladakh.

In many of these rural areas, once the sun sets, work and other activities come to a halt. This limitation significantly impacted the lives of the villagers, hindering their educational, economic, and recreational opportunities. The lamps were designed to harness solar energy during the day, storing it in built-in batteries, and providing illumination in homes, schools, and workplaces, empowering these communities to live a more upgraded lifestyle.

  • Allowing residents to perform basic tasks like cooking, cleaning, and personal care.

  • Enabling work like farming, handicrafts, and small businesses to continue after dark.

  • Providing extended study hours for children, helping them succeed and reach their full potential.

  • Lighting up pathways and common areas to increase safety and security, and reduce accidents.

EVE In Amaravati & Jawhar Taluka

In 2017, EVE went beyond distributing solar lamps by providing additional essential materials to meet daily needs.

A key recipient of this initiative was Prashnachinha, a residential school located in Mangrul Chawala, near Amaravati. It houses children of the 'False Pardhi' tribe (Hunter tribe), historically stigmatized as criminals and outcasts by the British—a prejudice that persists today. This marginalized community lacks access to basic social services, including education and healthcare.

Prashnachinha houses 450 disadvantaged children, rescued from streets, railway stations, and various parts of Maharashtra. EVE's support included supplying library books, sports equipment, and 100 solar lamps, empowering the children to play and study after dark.

EVE also celebrated the festival of lights by distributing solar lamps to two villages near Jawhar in Palghar district. In addition to the lamps, EVE supplied oil, earthen lamps, rangoli, and colors to immerse the villages in the festive spirit.

Each woman received a new saree, men were gifted towels, and students received notebooks, pencil boxes with sharpeners, and erasers. Snacks like chivda, laddu, chakli and bhujiya were provided and brought immense joy to the villagers experiencing these treats for the first time. The heartwarming reactions from the villagers made the occasion truly memorable.

Eye Camps & Prosthetic Limb Camps

EVE is more than just illuminating homes; it’s about transforming lives with compassion and care.

Started in 2014 by restoring vision and mobility, EVE empowered individuals to regain their independence - instilling hope and confidence for a brighter future.

EVE x TCL

In 2013, Tata Communications Limited (TCL), inspired by the work done by EVE, mobilized its network to sponsor one solar lamp each, resulting in enough funding to distribute 400 solar lamps. The beneficiary was a small village, Nandgaon Kohli near Trimbakeshwar, nestled in the remote Nashik district. This initiative sponsored by TLC in association with EVE left a lasting impact on the village, instilling hope for a brighter future.

Members of the TCL team seized the opportunity to visit the village and were deeply moved by the warm reception and gratitude they encountered. This experience prompted TCL to adopt the village and plan comprehensive empowerment initiatives for its residents.

Book Distribution Initiative

EVE also extended its impact by distributing books to libraries in the remote Ashramashalas across Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and other states.

These Ashramashalas serve as residential schools in distant and underserved areas, where access to educational resources is limited. By stocking these libraries with books, EVE aimed to enhance learning opportunities for students who otherwise lack access to a variety of reading materials. This initiative not only supports educational development but also promotes literacy, empowers young minds with knowledge, and fosters a culture of learning and growth in these remote communities.
